Serviceberry (Juneberry)
$50.00
Amelanchier alnifolia
Also called Saskatoon serviceberry, this is a small tree/shrub. White flowers turn into delicious blue/purple edible berries in early/mid summer. Leaves turn red to orange in the fall. It suckers and spreads from the roots. Flowers and berries attract wildlife and pollinators. Juneberry is fairly hardy and can tolerate a range of sites, but does best on loamy, well drained soils, in places with full sun.
Juneberry is planted for landscaping, erosion control, berry production, wildlife, and pollinator habitat.
