Dirt, oil and debris that collect in parking lots and paved areas can be washed into the storm sewer system and eventually enter local water bodies.

Helpful Tips:
1) Sweep up litter and debris from sidewalks, driveways, and parking lots, especially around storm drains.
2) Cover grease storage and dumpsters and keep them clean to avoid leaks.
3) Report any chemical spill to the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency.  They will be able to provide information on what needs to be done to protect your safety and the safety of others.
